Q: Why go through Destination Pocono?

A:  Destination Pocono’s main objective is to assist the tourist in navigating the area.  We have worked with our hotel and activity partners for quite some time and we can offer you our expertise in helping your create your memorable stay.  After booking through Destination Pocono we make sure that you are fully taken care of.  We make all of your arrangements and plan out your itinerary- basically doing all of the work for you! Each client receives a detailed e-mail confirmation including directions, tips and booking information.  Another reason for booking through Destination Pocono is all the great discounts!

Q: What can Destination Pocono help me book?

A:  We can assist you with just about anything you need to make sure you have a great experience in the Pocono Mountains.  We can book your accommodations, activities/attractions and transportation if needed.  If we book an entire event, we can assist you in booking entertainment, hotel negotiations, on-site meeting services, site selection and more.  If we can make it happen, we will!

Q: What kinds of events can Destination Pocono plan?

A: We help all kinds of clients.  From families and reunions to corporations and motor coach groups, we help plan events from start to finish.

Q: What are the discounts available to me?

A: Each one of our partners is priced differently so each discount will not be the same.  Some activities are a 5% savings while others are 30%.  It all depends on what it is that you wish to do.  Note that all of our activities offered to you are discounted in some way.

Q: How much notice is needed to book?

A:  We would like to book your activities in advance so that you have as many options as possible for openings.  We certainly can book same-day reservations, but do keep in mind that some of the activities have limited space and do book up quickly especially on weekends and holidays. We will try our best to make sure you get to experience the activity but your first pick of time and a spot cannot be guaranteed, so the more notice we have the better.

Q: Is there a deposit for booking?

A: If you are booking activities, Destination Pocono takes the full payment to confirm your reservation.  If you are booking an event that includes tours, accommodations, transportation, Destination Pocono creates a timeline for payments; however, all payments are required in advance prior to the event date.

Q: How can I pay for my activities booked through Destination Pocono?

A:  You may pay in advance for your activities with any major credit card; Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Once your payment is processed, all of your arrangements are confirmed and you will receive a detailed confirmation containing any driving directions you may need.  No matter how many activities you choose, you only have to make one easy payment, instead using your credit card at each of the various activities.

Q: Can I book online?

A:  We choose not to provide online booking for several reasons.  First, our staff likes to walk you through the activity on the phone so you are prepared. Second, we need to be able to make sure that the activity you wish to do is available for the time you prefer.  If you booked it online, there would be a chance that by the time your request was processed, that activity may have sold those time slots.  We love to talk with our clients directly, giving you that one on one experience.

Q:  Is there a charge for your service?

A:  Our basic service consists of securing your accommodations, activities and transportation at discounted rates.   Destination Pocono does include a $2.99 processing fee to each invoice.  This is a onetime fee and is not multiplied, meaning whether you book one activity or three activities, the fee remains $2.99. In some cases, when Destination Pocono plans something above and beyond the basics, such as entertainment, on-site management or registration assistance for guests, there may be a larger fee added via a percentage of the cost.  This is on a case-by-case basis and is always agreed upon in advance.

Q: Can I contact the activity directly?

A: You sure can.  We provide you with the activities’ phone numbers once you book in case you may have specific questions for them.  However, your actual reservation will be made through Destination Pocono to ensure you receive your discount.

Q:  If I previously made hotel reservations through you, do we call you or the hotel if we need to cancel or make changes?

A:  If you need to make any changes or cancellations to a hotel reservation that you made through us, you must call us and we will try our best to resolve the change. However, if your wish is to cancel, Destination Pocono is also required to follow the hotel’s cancellation policy.

Q:  What is the weather like in the Poconos?

During the winter seasons, the season can reach below zero Fahrenheit.  It is important to make sure you layer your clothing and wear a heavy coat. Gloves, hats and scarves are also a must-pack item.  During the spring and fall seasons, the weather can be unpredictable, Mother Nature decides.  It is best to pack a light coat and/or sweater as average temperatures in October can be a high of 61 and low of 33 and in May temperatures can be a high of 69 and low of 44. During the summer seasons, temperatures can reach into the high 90’s and weather condition can be very humid!

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

A:  Things happen! All cancellations must be received at least 48 hours before the start of the activity. No refunds will be made for requests received after that time. Refunds will be issued in the same manner the initial payment was made minus 10% for costs associated with the transaction. Please allow 48 hours for processing. The only exception to this policy would be for whitewater rafting in which the cancellation must be made at least ten days prior to the activity. This is due to the high volume of bookings for this activity. If an activity is cancelled, you will receive a refund (minus 10%) or have the option to reschedule when it is most convenient to you. All events go on a planned rain or shine, expect for the “Stockcar Experience’ and skydiving, as good weather is required in order for the activities to be executed safely.   If you need to cancel an entire event, each contract has different terms and should be referred to for reference on the policy.
